I can distinctly remember the first time I dozed off in class. It was 8:00 am Humanities with Dr. Handsome. If the room could be any more cozy, we would have all brought our pillows. My dozing went unnoticed until I realized that my notepad (and arm) had stray pen marks and some hieroglyphic language I didn't understand (and can only assume did not in any way relate to Greek art and architecture).
That was then. This is law school.
Yesterday, I witnessed the first sign of "way too comfortable" season. The SLEEPER.
Refer to Image 1.
Image 1: Clearly not who I was talking about, but you can imagine.
The slow nod gave it away.
What was even worse about the entire incident was the fact that he was in the second row without the cover of another body from the first row.
The first sign of absolute comfort... at least with that class.
Second sign: Wayyy too much information.
We are all in really close quarters with each other. By the time October rolls around (and our first final) we'll have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Ok, to the person in my class, I really don't want to hear about how stinky you were yesterday or who is with whom. It's not that I don't care (I might not) but it's just kinda gross.
Third sign: Facebook
All the time. Everywhere. Don't be a snob, you are doing it too.
Fourth sign:
I'm not going to read. I'll just read the powerpoints when he's finished reading them to me.
Sigh. Yes, we are all developing bad habits of some form or fashion. I don't think its all necessarily bad. It's about time we are all finding our way of doing things here.
